Job Description

The Logistics Planner will be an integral part of our Manufacturing and Supply Chain team, supporting the development of world-class production and distribution function. This is a broadly focused role, providing oversight of everything from raw materials for manufacture, through to finished assemblies across international distribution points.  Alongside being a key interface for our current Contract Manufacturing Partners (CMO) based in the UK, you will play a significant part in the development of our wider Planning and Logistics footprint as we establish our US-based operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and organise production and distribution for Manufacturing and Supply
  • Identify and implement process procedures/improvements associated with Manufacturing and Supply that result in improved Logistics performance
  • Proactively build productive/collaborative working relationships within all internal-facing Commercial and Manufacturing teams
  • Facilitate the shipping management of all material to all external-facing partners and distribution facilitators
  • Lead transportation management for movements of all materials for Manufacturing and Supply
  • Oversight of 3PL operations
  • Responsible for tracking and monitoring of all goods movement ex warehouse and distribution centres
  • Identify ‘best practise’ drive class leading SLAs, create intelligent KPI reports (OTIF, lead time etc..) for management purposes
  • Ensures timely escalation of any delivery issues

Experience

  • Experience in complex Medical / Pharma / Hi-Tech-Industrial planning & logistics
  • Customer and delivery focussed both internally & externally
  • Knowledge of National & International inventory, materials & product movement
    • Experience of dealing with USA, both “inside US” and Customs advantageous
    • Knowledge of International Freighting post Brexit advantageous
  • Experience facilitating complex Manufacturing & Supply infrastructures
  • Experience of delivery to multi-location medical facilities, potentially via 3PL
  • Significant Manufacturing & Supply exposure to ERP/MRP systems and all MS Tools
  • Co-ordinating complex web-hosted 3PL portals / websites for end-to-end goods delivery
